“If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it.” — 1 Corinthians 12:26
The Holy Land is more than a destination; it is the beating heart of our Christian faith. It is the land where Jesus was born, taught, healed, suffered, died, and rose from the dead. It is sacred not only because of its history, but because of the living Christian communities that have carried the light of Christ through the centuries.
Today, however, many of these faithful communities are suffering. And they need us.
A Struggle Hidden Behind Ancient Stones
For generations, Christians in the Holy Land have welcomed pilgrims with open hearts. Tourism has been their lifeline—providing jobs as tour guides, shopkeepers, artisans, hotel staff, and more. Their livelihoods depend on sharing the sacred places of Scripture with the world.
But now, amid ongoing conflict and war, that lifeline has been severed:
It’s not just an economic crisis. It’s a crisis of hope.
Why Our Support Matters
The Christian population in the Holy Land has been shrinking for decades. Without meaningful support, many fear that Christianity could one day vanish from the very place of its birth.
Our brothers and sisters in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth, and throughout the region are resilient. They have endured centuries of hardship. But no one can stand alone.
“The Church in the Holy Land is the mother Church,” Pope Francis reminds us.
“She has kept the faith alive for centuries. She needs our support.”
